Guinness World Record for Largest Maths Class

To mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, Aditi Singhal & Sudhir Singhal taught 3,245 students the times tables till 99 and thus created a new Guinness World Record in Mathematics. During the session they presented some innovative techniques of memory and smart techniques of Vedic Maths to work out tables till 99 in seconds. The event was organized by BrahmaKumaris at Om Shanti Retreat Centre, Gurgoan on 17th December, 2012 in which more than 35 schools participated.

Some of the participated schools are DPS , Sushant Lok, Blue Bells Public School, Gurgaon, Greenwood Public School, Starex International, Divine Dales International, CCA school, etc.

Students participated with great excitement and enthusiasm throughout the session. The event was witnessed by Mr. VVR Murty, Manager Limca Book of Records, Shri Kishan Bhardwaj, Principal of Govt. Teacher’s Training at DPS, Rohini December, 2012

Workshop on “Innovative techniques in teaching Mathematics” was done in DPS, Rohini. Some innovative activities for improving mental maths were discussed to help the students overcome maths phobia and make learning maths a fun.

Workshop in MUMBAI for School Teachers December, 2012

Teacher’s training on “Effective methods of Teaching Mathematics” was organized for more than 70 schools. During the session the emphasis was given on how to simplify the concepts through various maths lab activities in an easy way so that maths become fun for the students. CCE activities and project work in maths were also the part of discussion.

Workshop at National Science Centre, Delhi November, 2012

In the National Mathematical year 2012, teacher’s training on “Effective methods of teaching Mathematics” was organized by National Science Centre, Delhi. Teachers from more than 25 schools participated in the workshop. Some innovative activities of Maths Lab for students were also discussed to help them apply the concepts of maths, practically in daily life.
